The Maharaja's Ride

A haloed king rides out on his royal elephant, in the bright, playful spirit of Rajasthani miniature painting.

: Against a glowing saffron sky, a crowned maharaja sits high on a caparisoned elephant, a small lamp raised in one hand, while his attendant waves a white chowrie behind him. The elephant strides forward in a richly patterned red and gold saddle-cloth, its trunk lifted in celebration.
Inspired by the courtly miniatures of Rajasthan, the piece pairs flat, jewel-bright colour with fine hand-embellished detailing, set within a crimson mount. Joyful and full of character, it lifts an entrance, a dining space or a colourful contemporary room
